Make S’More Racquet (Women’s 4.0) kicked off the new winter league 09/10 season with a 3:2 win over Greatest Hits, FVRC.

Liz S and Martha G. played S1 and S2 respectively, and both pulled off great wins, giving our 3 dubs teams the comfort of knowing 2/3 of the work was already done for the team to pull out a win.

All the dubs games were closely fought. Linda S and Denise played a tough D3 match (which included an ex-4.5 player) and lost the first set, only to win the 2nd and lose in a 3rd set tiebreak. Well done – for hanging in there Linda/Denise. Next time you’ll nail the tiebreak!! Robin and Christina played seasoned opponents, a solid D2 (if not D1) and lost in two sets, but took the first set to a close tiebreak. Heidi and Linda A lost the first set against a couple of hard hitters, turned it around and won the second, and went on to win the tie-break.  And that was all she wrote!
